Hello,

My name is Austin Jones and I am artist of several different mediums. I focus primarily on concept art, but I also work in digital design, photo editing and illustration . There are a lot of aspiration that I have, but when it comes to a project I offer great focus and determination. I like to think and create abstractly to exercise my right minded way of thinking and to remain creative. In my free time I enjoy watching anime, hanging out with friends or working on my original comic series.

Sincerely,

Austin Jones

How I view Art

Art to me is one of the few concepts that completely leaves me in awe as I think of its vastness. It is such a enormous entity that it almost feels impossible not to take part in it. Art and all that it is, has allowed various individuals to free themselves from life’s burdens, trials, and tribulations. It has brought joy in times of pain, peace in moments of chaos, and voice and when the world would demand silence. Art to me is an entity that is  challenging to avoid yet pleasing to be a part of. It may come off as a childish dream but part of wishes that I had the time and skills to participate and be ingrained in the countless ways of expression and creativity that art encapsulates. My focus of digital illustration and character art, despite how small it may seem in the vast array of the artistic world, allows me to take part of a mere morsel of something that is vast and forever enhancing.

In the beginning of what I would consider my artistic career, hand drawing has meant so much to me. I fondly remember colored pencils and computer paper scattered across my room as a child. Notebook margins filled with random drawings  and shapes instead studying notes and answers to math questions. The excitement I felt when I found a half full 11x17 sketch book randomly in my childhood home one day. These moments of my life has shaped my interests in creativity and illustration into a desire and passion I hope maintain in a career or at least be apart of my daily life until I can’t anymore. I strive to, draw, and illustrate characters, items, and locations but most importantly ideas. The outcome of when we imagine, and dream. The part of our minds that opens the door to art. Drawing has been my catalyst in this art world and It is something I want to continue growing and appreciating within me. Through art classes in high school, majoring in Digital media in college, certificate programs and the countless tutorial videos I can truly say I’ve been nurturing this passion closely in hopes bring this dream into fruition. I can’t necessarily explain what it is that I enjoy about concept art and illustration specifically, but I believe that is because to me there is too many aspects of it that brings me enjoyment.
